🌟 Volunteer Opportunity – Join the HOPE Study at Imperial! 🌟

Are you an Imperial undergraduate passionate about surgery, research, or making a real difference in science?
We’re inviting you to take part in the HOPE Study (HOspital versus Primary care breath test Environment) — an exciting research project using breath samples to advance medical understanding and innovation.

What’s involved?

  • Two separate days within one week:
  • Visit a GP clinic to provide a breath sample, then travel to a hospital to provide another.
  • Each day takes about 3 hours (typically 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.).
  • Fasting: No food for 6 hours before each sampling session (water is allowed).
  • Procedure: Quick, painless, and non-invasive — just breathing into a bag.
  • Mentorship: Spend 2 hours with an academic surgeon — ask questions, get career advice, and receive guidance.
  • Make a meaningful contribution to cutting-edge medical research.

What’s in it for you?
✅ Certificate of Research Participation â€” a great addition to your CV.
✅ One-to-one time with an academic surgeon for mentorship and career planning.
✅ Be part of research that could shape the future of healthcare.

Who can join?
All Imperial undergraduate students are welcome — no prior research experience required. Just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm!

📩 How to sign up: email hope-study@imperial.ac.uk and we will send you further information.

Your small contribution could make a big difference.
Come and be part of the future of surgery and medical science!
