We are pleased to announce GHY International 2026, officially titled the Global Health Youth International Conference 2026. Registration free.
This student-led international conference is scheduled to take place in Tokyo in late August 2026 and will run for approximately three days. The conference is organized primarily by students from the University of Tokyo and Harvard University, and will bring together students from around the world who are interested in global health—particularly those in medicine, life sciences, and health data–related fields.
The programme will combine fieldwork with policy-oriented discussions, and the main activities will include:
- Discussions on current challenges and developments in global health
- International dialogue sessions involving experts from academia, industry, and government
- Fieldwork visits to medical and health-tech institutions in Tokyo and surrounding areas
- Policy design workshops
- (For students in medicine and life sciences) Special visits to affiliated facilities of the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine
- Consideration of homestay arrangements and partial travel and accommodation support for international participants
We expect approximately 35–50 student participants in total. In the longer term, the conference aims to foster an international student network, with the possibility of future meetings hosted by other universities, including in London.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming you to the Tokyo conference. Details regarding the programme and partial financial support will be confirmed at a later date.
