We are reaching out to invite you to participate in a research study on ‘Educational Gain’ at Imperial as your role in liaison between students and the College make your insights valuable.
Your involvement in this research will be crucial in shaping the future of education at Imperial.
We would like you to (1) participate in the focus group yourselves and (2) to please help distribute this research opportunity with other students (an advertising poster is attached to this email) through the communication channels that you use.
The first focus group is scheduled for 15th October, 13:00 at Beit Hall Meeting Room 1. Free pizza would be provided for your time.
Here is the summary of the aim of the Research Project and what would be expected of participants:
We are conducting a research project that seeks to explore how education is understood and experienced at Imperial College London, from both staff and student perspectives.
In line with the College’s 2030 aspiration to develop “the most talented, the most enterprising and the most diverse” graduates, this study aims to examine the current educational landscape. To achieve this vision, it is essential to reflect on our existing practices, identify the educational opportunities currently provided, and understand what staff and students believe should be gained from an Imperial education.
As part of this project, we are holding a series of focus groups with students across the four faculties — Engineering, Natural Sciences, Medicine, and the Business School. These discussions will provide a broader understanding of the educational gains experienced by students and how these align with institutional goals.
We warmly invite you to contribute your insights and expertise to this important initiative.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could please share this poster with the students through the communication streams that you are currently using.
