The GMC set clear expectations that doctors have a responsibility to manage and use resources effectively. For this year’s student professionalism competition, the GMC and MSC are asking students at UK medical schools to create engaging online content that explores why sustainability in healthcare is includedas a duty in Good medical practice andinAchieving good medical practice.

You have until midday on Friday 26 September 2025 to take part.

The winning entry will receive a £500 voucher, and the content will be shared with medical schools across the UK and across the GMC’s social media channels. Two runner-up entries will be awarded a £175 voucher each.

Last year’s winner created an animated video focusing on simplifying the MLA’s purpose, structure and role in medical training.
