“Academic Clinical Careers” by Dr Davies

Myelopathy.org Student Society are excited to welcome Dr Benjamin Davies as our first guest speaker in the series, and in collaboration with Cambridge University Surgical Society.

Dr Davies is an academic neurosurgeon based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He will be speaking about his career journey along the academic clinical pathway within the UK. This will be a useful insight for medical students and junior clinicians that have academic ambitions in the coming years.

Dr Davies has completed an academic clinical fellowship (ACF) and has just finished his PhD at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. He is a very active neurosurgical researcher and was recently recognised as one of the rising stars globally in spinal neurosurgery, as one of the ’20 Under 40’ spinal doctors worldwide. He is a co-founder of our charity, Myelopathy.org. Myelopathy.org has expanded rapidly in recent years, contributing to the battle against DCM with high impact research, patient outreach and education. Dr Davies is also the founder behind MoveMed, the startup developing digital biomarkers for neurological disease to aid research and improve patient outcomes.
