The World Healthy Life Week (WHLW)

The World Healthy Life Week (WHLW) is an initiative run by the Healthy Heart Trust, and will take place this year between Monday October 30th and Sunday November 5th 2023. This initiative was started by our late founder and chair, Professor Donald Singer, who sadly passed away in July 2022. Building on the success of previous years, the theme of this year’s Week is “Health Inequalities: Towards Cardiovascular Health Equity”.

A series of international webinars is at the heart of the Week’s activities to enable the exchange of knowledge on the evidence of promoting health and preventing illness and inspire people and decision-makers to take positive action to protect heart health. These are free to attend and we believe would of great interest and educational benefit to your students.

In 2023, we are focusing on the following topics:

  1. Women’s Cardiovascular Health – Addressing the Blind Spots
  2. Racial Equality and Hypertension – Challenging Assumptions
  3. Economic Inequality and Cardiovascular Disease – the Evidence
