Invitation for Imperial Students to join AVIVAs Hackathon on 10th and 11th October 2023
Aviva is conducting their annual hackathon, which is an exciting and innovative, time-boxed event where teams of tech and business individuals collaborate intensively to design, build and present new products and services.
This year, Aviva has partnered with AWS, TCS and Imperial College to deliver something truly amazing with exciting prizes up for grabs, including an incubation budget for the winning solution development!
The focus is on two challenges:
- How might we better serve our customers today?
- How might we better prepare our customers for the future?
A total of 10 ideas have been selected to build prototypes for the hackathon which were sourced from within Aviva. We would like to invite students from Imperial College to be part of the hackathon team building prototype for the ideas. This will be an exciting journey to obtain some real-life experience with an objective to make a difference to the business and future of Aviva.
The event will take place on 10th and 11th of October at Amazons AWS’s exciting head office space in London. With breakfast and lunch provided with exciting opportunities for further prizes to be won and activities throughout the day.
On the 11th of October, the teams will deliver the following for the final judging:
Digital proof of concept of solution
-Product, service, feature, dashboard, provable algorithm
-Screencast of demo
Pitch Deck
-Lean business canvas
-Solution architecture with annex
The judging will be done by top executives in Aviva along with customer judges, including Amanda Blanc Aviva CEO, John Cummings Aviva CIO, Sara Rajeswaran CoS and Sophie Winwood Anthemis Principle.
There are exciting prizes as well up for grabs.

£20,000 of incubation budget to develop the solution

TCS Expert support in development of winning solution & high street vouchers for best debutant idea
