Medical Spanish Course

We at microscopIA are excited to announce the launch of our new online course, titled “Medical Spanish.” This course has been specifically designed to equip  healthcare students and professionals with the necessary language skills to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients. This online course is scheduled to start on July 1 and will run until December 23.

The methodology used in the Medical Spanish Course combines interactive language learning techniques with a focus on medical terminology and practical communication skills. Each week, we will provide multimedia resources for self-study, allowing you to learn at your own pace. Additionally, we are offering 90-minute practice sessions with experienced Spanish tutors on Saturdays and Sundays. These sessions will focus on pronunciation practice related to the weekly topic, and to ensure personalized attention, each session will be limited to only 10 students. You can choose a convenient time slot between 7 am and 8 pm to accommodate your schedule and preferences. We have contracted dedicated Spanish tutors for these practice sessions, and a team of three experts is developing the comprehensive multimedia resources for self-study.

For detailed information about the course syllabus and additional resources, please visit our course page at: https://microscopia.thinkific.com/courses/medical-spanish

The regular price for enrollment is 100 USD. However, as an early bird offer, we are providing a 50% discount for those who enroll by June 23. Additionally, we are delighted to offer a special reduced fee (30 USD) for our partners like the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS).

We believe that acquiring the necessary language skills to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking patients will greatly enhance your professional capabilities and provide a more inclusive and patient-centered approach to healthcare. Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your horizons and improve your communication skills.

We are launching this course with a greater purpose – to fund a community research project focused on evaluating mental health among Venezuelan children and adolescents in Colombia. The funds generated from this course will directly contribute to supporting the salaries of dedicated mental health professionals, covering office expenses, and financing the research activities. It is important to note that microscopIA is in the process of registering the microscopIA Foundation, and this research project serves as the foundation for a community program aimed at providing free counseling services to immigrants in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia.

By enrolling in this course, you not only gain valuable language skills but also contribute to a meaningful cause. Your participation directly supports the well-being of vulnerable individuals in need of mental health support, particularly Venezuelan children and adolescents residing in Colombia. Together, we can make a positive impact on their lives and promote a more inclusive and supportive community.

Thank you for joining us on this journey towards improving mental health services for immigrant populations and building a brighter future for those in need.
