SUMMARY:Move of the MDLs - Vision For Medicine Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Link Above! ^ \nBack in December\, the Faculty of Medicine announced the Move of our MDLs into a separate building\, as part of the next step in the series that makes up their “Vision for the Faculty of Medicine”. \nYou can read our original statement on the matter here: https://mailchi.mp/imperial/icsmsus-statement-on-the-loss-of-safs-mdls \nThe Faculty of Medicine are now hosting a Q&A session on the Move of our MDLs and their Vision for Medicine. \nThey will be hosting this as a Teams live event. \nWe would like to take this opportunity to build a constructive dialogue between the Faculty and students\, and for students to put forward their views on changes and improvements to the medical school experience. We believe strongly that this should be a two-way process\, and that students should have a loud and active voice in influencing the direction the Faculty of Medicine takes. \nSo bring your thoughts\, opinions\, support\, challenges and ideas. This is a time of great change to our course and the School\, but we have a chance to design the future of education at ICSM and it’s important we have a voice.

SUMMARY:Mental Health in the Differently-Abled
DESCRIPTION:Interested in mental health in marginalized communities? Want to know more about mental health in the differently-abled? If your answer is yes\, then this is the talk for you! This event is open to all – so feel free to attend even if you are not a medical student/are a medical student elsewhere! \nWe are proud to announce our engaging and vivid speakers: Anannya Chatterjee and Dr Kirsty Dunn… \nAnannya is a Loughborough and University of Law graduate currently working at the University of Nottingham and lives with cerebral palsy. Having worked in mental health settings\, Anannya is no stranger to the world of mental health but was not prepared for how her cerebral palsy would impact her own mental health This whistle-stop talk will hopefully show that those of us living with disabilities are people first\, and diagnosis second. \nDr. Kirsty Dunn is a Research Associate at the Scottish Learning Disabilities Observatory\, based at the University of Glasgow. Her projects in this role have centered around the health and health inequalities experienced by people with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Dunn graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MA (Soc Sci) in Psychology before going on to complete an MSc in Social and Organisational Psychology at the University of Exeter\, and a PhD in Psychological Medicine at the University of Glasgow \nThis event is free and open to all and Zoom links will be sent out near the event. If you have any questions\, please feel free to get in touch with us at psychsoc@ic.ac.uk or DM us on Instagram or Facebook! \nFor tickets click on this link:\nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/mental-health-in-the-differently-abled-tickets-139780101045
