28th Scientific Congress of Hellenic Students and 16th International Forum of Medical Students and Junior Doctors

It is a great honour and distinct pleasure to present to you the 28th Scientific Congress of Hellenic Medical Students and the 16th International Forum of Hellenic Medical Students and Junior Doctors that will be taking place on 13-15 May 2022 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Athens, Greece.

Considering the precarious health-related circumstances, we are making sure that the participants will be able to fully experience the opportunities of the Congress through online attendance too, thus adopting a hybrid format.

The Scientific Congress of Hellenic Medical Students (SCHMS) and the International Forum for Medical Students and Junior Doctors (IFMS+JD) is an annual event which attracts more than 2000 students and 500 professors from Greece and around the globe. It represents our vision to actively advance our learning and to cultivate and promote scientific and social values. It is organised by the Scientific Society of Hellenic Medical Students (SCHMS), an active organisation, first established in 1993 which proudly represents the interests of more than 3000 medical students across each of the 7 Greek medical schools.

The International Forum is one of the most essential and prestigious events of the SCHMS. Having English as the official language, it is the part of the Congress that addresses International professors of different specialties and medical students from around the world.

Throughout the three day event, the International Forum is hosted in the two grandest venues of the Congress hall. World-renowned professors, medical students and multidisciplinary student teams present their views on current scientific topics with global impact. Multinational students are invited to actively participate by presenting their own scientific work or by taking part in innovative workshops. Most importantly, it is a one-of-a kind opportunity to meet, discuss and get inspired by faculty members and young doctors.

This year, our Congress’ grand venue will be hosting oral sessions and debates by acclaimed speakers, pertaining to three thematic zones, one for each day of the Congress. Our thematic zones will be:

  1. Public Health
  2. The future of medicine
  3. Advancing Clinical Medicine.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend our live surgeries.

We are really excited that we will be bringing the SCHMS back to its live form and we are really hoping to have you here with us!

Other than a great opportunity to meet, discuss and exchange scientific ideas with fellow students, our Congress will be an excellent occasion to become acquainted with Athens’ rich cultural heritage and famous landmarks, as well as with its vibrant cosmopolitan lifestyle- especially during this time of the year- which we promise to highlight with our rich social program.

So, with this e-mail we wish to extend an invitation to your team for a partnership of mutual benefit. We think and we hope that your members and fellow students will discover our Congress to be an excellent opportunity to expand their horizons and participate actively in this event designed to teach, inspire but also to bring student initiatives and ideas to the spotlight.  With that in mind, we would be very appreciative if you could promote our Congress to your fellow students, through your social media and to encourage them to participate actively by presenting their own scientific work as an oral presentation or an e-poster, or even as members of a student round table. They can also choose to become ambassadors of our Congress, thus granting them the opportunity to participate free-of-charge.

Below, you will find attached the official Congress e-poster, along with the logos of our three basic thematologies, which can all be used for promotional purposes. We invite you to do the same, by sending us the logo of your team in order to be included in our “Partners” section on our official website and in our social media.

We would really like to hear your thoughts as well for the prospect of a partnership and your proposals as to how we can contribute to your activities as well. We are also available to participate in an online meeting  with some of your delegates, in order to discuss accordingly.
