StreetDoctors is expanding to Imperial College London and are looking for medical student volunteers to help set up a brand new team!
StreetDoctors is a national charity made up of like-minded medical students and junior doctors committed to ending youth violence.
Over 360 volunteers in 18 teams across the UK teach young people at risk of youth violence about the true medical consequences of violent crime, challenge attitudes and increase an individual’s confidence to help when someone is bleeding or unconscious. We do this by teaching sessions at a variety of youth centres – including prisons, youth offending teams, youth groups, and pupil referral units.
The video below shows footage from one of our “what to do when someone is bleeding” sessions, as well as testimonials from volunteers who already work with StreetDoctors – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryj_UOCT9h0&feature=youtu.be
