ICSM Drama is an amateur dramatics society that specialises in putting on great shows whilst having a huge amount of fun in the process. Our members range from stage novices to budding thespians and we’re more than willing to help out and guide people if they want to get involved. If the stage isn’t quite your cup of tea, then there are many other ways to get involved, such as backstage (lighting, sound, powertools, cake), costumes (and cake), writing, directing, stage design, advertising, filming and so on! (Enthusiasm matters more than experience!)

Past notable productions have included Pride and Prejudice, Some Like it Hot, James and the Giant Peach, Macbeth and even some that were written/directed by our members.

Our major performances this year will be an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Poirot, An Appointment with Death, as well as a stage adaptation of Beauty and the Beast or La Belle et la Bête which will be performed in Autumn and Spring term respectively. We even take on other London universities in a sketch based comedy clash in Summer term.

Freshers’ Plays take place early in the year and provide an excellent chance to experience acting with relatively little commitment as the plays are only 15 minutes long. (Everyone is guaranteed a part on auditions!).

Throughout the year we have a host of social events including Tour, Freshers’ Dinner, the Christmas & End of Year Dinners, and the legendary play week socials. There’s even an opportunity for discounted theatre trips for the most culturally inclined individuals.

Finally, we always reward endeavour which we do through a scholarship. This is given to individuals who have been an active member of the society.
