British Society for the History of Medicine Congress

The British Society for the History of Medicine Congress is in Edinburgh this year.

Keynote speakers will include Philippa Langley , who led the successful search for the remains of Richard III, and the Guthrie lecture will be delivered by Professor David Watters from Melbourne. The Congress is being held in association with the Society for the Social History of Medicine whose sponsored keynote speaker is Professor Malcolm Nicolson.

We are keen to encourage medical students and students of history of medicine to attend the Congress and present a poster or paper.
Students have reduced delegate rates and there are bursaries for travel and delegate fees for students who register as delegates. More information can be found on the poster below.
